CTS-V Coupe

We are just a few months away from having the CTS Coupe as well as the CTS-V Coupe on our showroom floor at Central Cadillac.  The CTS-V Coupe takes the monster 6.2L V8 Supercharged engine from the sedan and combines it with the dramatic styling of the Coupe.  This car is awesome!

The CTS-V Coupe is loaded with styling points as well as a high-tech interior.  The Coupe has a Magnetic Ride Control system, which is the world’s fastest responding suspension technology.  The V Coupe’s front fascia grille also doubles as the cars air intake, which gives it a very aggressive design feature.  The V Coupe rolls on 19’’ cast aluminum wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 performance tires.  The twin exhaust is located in the center of the Coupe and produces a great exhaust note.  The coupe also features a unique door handle much like that of the Cadillac XLR, a push button entry.

The CTS-V Coupe’s engine produces 556 hp and 551 lb.-ft. of torque that propels it to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds!  The wheelbase is the same as the CTS-V sedan but two inches less in height as well as two less in length.

I will update this section as more information is released on the CTS-V Coupe.
*(updates)*

The CTS Coupe base model will have many standard luxuries with the price set at around $38,990.  Some of the standard features are the RWD 3.6 L Direct Injection 304 hp engine, 18'' alloy wheels, Nurburgring-tuned performance suspension, rear park assist (great feature), Bose audio system, power front seats and keyless remote access with remote start. The AWD base starts at around $40,500.

The next step up is the Performance Collection which starts at around $43,430 RWD and $45,330 AWD.  In this upgrade the vehicle is equipped with the features mentioned before along with leather interior, Xenon HID headlamps, 40 gig hard drive for media storage and a Bose 5.1 cabin surround sound audio system.

The Coupe Premium Collection pricing starts at around $47,835 RWD and $45,330 AWD.  The vehicle is equipped with the above mentioned and ambient interior lighting, navigation system, a rear-view camera, heated/ventilated front seats, wood trim, sunroof and a heated steering wheel.

The CTS-V Coupe starts at $62,990.  The engine is the 6.2L 556hp Supercharged V8.  It will be loaded with performance features including the Brembo brakes, magnetic ride control, 19'' wheels with performance Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires and paddle shift controls.

Cadillac ATS Concept Car

There has been much talk about the Cadillac ATS concept recently, which will be introduced as an "entry level" Cadillac.  The ATS will be built on the Alpha frame and will most likely have four available lines: sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible.  This is Cadillac's next step shortly after the release of the Cadillac XTS.  They are generating an extensive product line in order to be more competitive and give customers what they want.

There is very little information available on the ATS and also there have not yet been any photos that have surfaced.  There are speculations that the concept car will be unveiled later this year at the Paris Auto show but will most likely debut at the LA Auto show.

GM has released that they are working on a two-mode hybrid engine, similar to the one in the Hybrid Escalade, for use in the Cadillac ATS.  GM would like to make it 25% smaller than the current Hybrid engine and 20% more powerful.  It will be interesting to see how this unfolds in the next couple of months.

I will update this as more info is released.  If you have additional info, please share!

Cadillac XTS Platinum

Cadillac just unveiled the concept car today at the 2010 North American Auto. The Platinum series XTS has all the luxurious essences of a Cadillac. The dashboard will be lit up by O-LED's, much like the new 2010 SRX. The interior will contain all of the creature features one could ask for: There will be rear pop-up DVD players, hand sewn leather seats, infotainment features at the push of a button and other state of the art technology and conveniences.

It will be powered by a 3.6L V-6 Direct Injection gas engine, which is paired with a plug-in hybrid system. This will allow the XTS to plug in to a standard electrical outlet in order to charge the battery. The electric drive system will extend fuel efficiency, especially in city traffic. The engine will give it about 350 hp.
Check back soon, will keep updating this post as more information is made available. (last update 1/13/2010)

CTS-V Challenge

Today at around 1:00pm, the CEO of GM, Bob Lutz, will be challenging any takers to a race against his stock Cadillac CTS-V in New York. The race will take place at the Monticello Motor Club. The whole idea came about with GM's new campaign, "may the best car win." He wants to prove to the world that Cadillac can compete and beat luxury imports in performance as well as style. The competitors include a lot of private owners and auto journalists with an extensive racing history that are stepping up to the plate. There should be a good range of import cars to compete against the Cadillac CTS-V. Check out Cadillac's facebook page to get all of the details at facebook.com/cadillac.
